Swim Lessons- NO ONLINE REGISTRATIONS

SWIM LESSON REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

  • Registration for swim lessons will start September 8.
  • With the exception of Aqua Tots, students must present an MRC placement card at the time of registration.
  • New students can get a card by attending a free skill evaluation day from 5-6:30 pm on Sunday September 7 or Sunday October 5.
  • Returning students will get a card at the end of their swim session.
  • Class size is limited.

Parents and spectators must watch from the lounge windows during swim lessons.
They may not remain in the pool area.

Adult Lessons
18 & over:
Adults only! Learn the basics of this life skill. Several strokes and styles of swimming will be covered. Yes! You really can learn to swim in just a few days. Date: Oct 7-Oct 30

Home School Swim Lessons: Home school students, take swim lessons before the October rush! Learn a valuable life-skill and get PE credits at the same time. Aqua Tots
6 months - 2 years:
With the help of a parent, infants and toddlers will learn multiple skills including submerging the face into the water, rhythmic breathing, and jump water entry. Motor learning skills will include prone and rear float and water walk. Lessons will be modified to suit the age of the child. Date: Oct 7-Oct 30

Paddling Penguins
3 years & over:
Students in this class will learn to perform the front over arm stroke, prone glide, rear glide, prone kick glide, rear kick glide, safety swim, and the combination front and rear stroke. After completing the lessons, students should be able to perform the skills without hesitation. Parents may attend if need be. Date: Oct 7-Oct 30

Sea Turtles
Beginner Level:
Stroke development will be the focus of this class. Students will learn, in order, the front crawl arm stroke, rear arm stroke and rear backstroke. Pool and water safety rules will be introduced. Upon completion, students will be able to confidently swim twenty yards using the front crawl, and rear backstroke. Date: Oct 7-Oct 30

Swordfish
Intermediate Level:
Stroke development on an intermediate level including breast stroke, side stroke, butterfly and others will be taught. Front dive and safety skills will be introduced. Upon completion, students will be able to confidently swim fifty yards using the front crawl, rear crawl, breast stroke, side stroke and backstroke. Date: Oct 7-Oct 30

Flying Fish
Advanced Level:
This class will concentrate on swimming proficiency and safety. Curriculum will include surface dive, underwater swimming and child CPR. Students will be trained in preparation for a skills exam and a survival swimming exam. Date: Oct 7-Oct 30
